provide you with evidence based information for you to research so that
you can make informed decisions about your care during pregnancy,
labor, birth and postpartum.
~I offer the use of my birth pool, where hospitals allow. (There is an additional fee of $79 that cover the purchase of a sterile liner and hose for sanitary reasons)
~I provide continuous labor support during active labor until the birth of your baby.
~I provide non-medical comfort measures such as position changes, guided visualization and relaxation, light touch massage, EFT (emotion freedom technique), hypnosis and NLP(neuro-linguistic programming) and other techniques for comfort management.
~I help maintain a calm and peaceful birth environment, as allowed by medical staff.
~I will create a birth log as circumstances allow.
~I stay one to two hours after birth or until you settled, and breastfeeding has been initiated.
~I provide phone support as needed during the immediate postpartum
period for postpartum care, breastfeeding support and newborn care.
~I arrange one postpartum meeting: This gives us an opportunity to
review your labor and birth, and to give feedback concerning your birth
experience. At this time I will also answer any general questions
regarding breastfeeding, perineal care and other concerns.
Labour Prep and Postpartum Package $480 (16 hours)
~I offer two prenatal meetings in the privacy and comfort of your own home, we will go over:
your choices in childbirth, interventions, phases and stages of labour, comfort measures and relaxation techniques, understanding your newborn and the postpartum period, establishing a successful breastfeeding relationship with your new baby.
~I provide you with evidence based information for you to research so that you can make informed decisions about your care during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.
~I can come into the hospital for support and guidance for baby's first feed.
~I join you in your home once your baby has arrived to help you ease into parenthood, taking care of all of the non essential tasks so that you are free to attend to the essential ones; recovering from childbirth, breastfeeding and bonding with your new baby.

It is always my intention that every woman who wants a doula, has the opportunity to have one. Please feel free to discuss alternative arrangements if my fees are beyond your means. If I am unable to reduce my fees, I will do my best to help you find a doula who can.
